A 2016 study of the National Survey of Children's Health data found one in six children between the ages of 6 and 17 has a treatable mental health disorder such as depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, or attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
According to the CDC, here are the estimated prevalence rates for children between the ages of 3 and 17:
9% have received an ADHD diagnosis,
7% have a diagnosed behavior problem,
7% have diagnosed anxiety disorder, and
3% have diagnosed depression.
