An example of an existential crisis is when a person feels that they are not living life to the fullest. This person may feel that they are suppressing negative feelings such as anger and frustration and only experiencing positive emotions such as happiness and calmness. They may look for a new approach to life that enables them to experience all aspects of life.
In the pursuit of authentic and holistic living, the individual may try different rituals, belief systems, and philosophies without success. They may become frustrated if the new approach does not provide sufficient answers to their most pressing questions. Such a person can be said to be going through an existential crisis.
