Hi! I'm Aaron Hunt, a licensed professional counselor specializing in grounded, embodied approaches to healing through feeling your emotions in the body. I feel compassion and empathy for those stuck in anxiety, addiction, and/or trauma, as well as Christians whose faith in God has been injured (spiritual abuse) and are seeking to spiritually heal and reconstruct their faith. I believe the soil our roots are planted in (our past, family and other important relationships, trauma, addictions, habits and other patterns) sculpts our beliefs, and that our beliefs direct where our energy and attention flows. If you want to move out of FEARING for what you value and into LOVING what you value, I would be honored to walk with you on your journey. -------- Are you stuck in patterns you don't understand? Where is your attention focusing energy in your life? Are you cultivating the life you want or is your attention and energy being spent trying to resist and avoid a life you don't want? "What you resist not only persists, but will grow in size" ~ Carl Jung -------- I bring compassion, empathy, and grounded containment to my sessions to hold space for my clients and their emotions as they heal. I'm excited by body-focused, holistic, and transpersonal approaches and am a firm believer that we live in a much bigger world than what we can imagine. I have been engaged in clinical work since 2014 treating addictions and working with sex addicts as a certified sex addiction therapist (CSAT). To work with my trauma clients, I have been trained in EMDR. I am a Level 1 mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) teacher through Brown University. I am currently a student in the Somatic Experiencing® Professional Training Program, seeking to complete the educational and related requirements of the program to use the Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner credential. "Doogan", my chill, gentle Labradane, is often at the office with me and is my grounding assistant. He is loved by all who meet him, especially my clients.
