As a mental health professional, I believe in creating a safe and genuine environment for a client to be free to acknowledge their most vulnerable self, without judgment. The client-counselor relationship is unique and collaborative, therefore the significance of a trusting bond cannot be overemphasized. I believe that the therapeutic relationship grows organically, with time, and at the client’s pace. Each client is unique, so I integrate approaches best suited to the individual and the situation–Psychodynamic, CBT, Solution Focused, and Mindfulness–but at the core of therapy is self-exploration. Aside from my experience as a licensed counselor, I have +15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in areas of behavioral therapy (ABA), grief and loss, suicide awareness/prevention, disabilities and daily living skills, art/play therapy, and ASD. During my time as a licensed counselor, I have immersed myself in working with children, adolescents, and teens. I recognize the importance of the client’s age and development and work with the client’s interests, in order to create an enjoyable environment that is conducive to trust and healing. I hold an M.A. from Oakland University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am here for the challenge with you. I enjoy spending time with family, being in nature, trying new foods, and walking my three dogs. I am passionate about mental health, arts and education, and animals. I am dedicated to assisting clients to overcome struggles and strive towards success, in whatever form that it may take.
