Introduction

I was raised in Houston, TX by immigrants from Eritrea and Ethiopia. As a black therapist and child of immigrants, I recognize how important it is to find a therapist who understands non-Western cultures and approaches to therapy. Through my work as a therapist, I'm especially equipped to work with clients seeking support for depression, anxiety, trauma, first and second generation cultural issues, relationship issues, perfectionism, religious deconstruction/spiritual issues, and grief. Through the use of IFS (Internal Family Systems), EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy), and EMDR, I help adults, teens, and couples foster healthy relationships, improve self-confidence, and live a life that aligns with their values. I aim to create a space where my clients feel safe to show up as their most authentic selves. I have found that the relationship between clients and therapists works best when built on genuine acceptance, mutual trust, and compassionate accountability. I believe that everyone deserves access to healing spaces—including those who have been marginalized due to their race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other aspect of their identity. When I am not providing therapy, you can usually find me exploring new Austin restaurants, enjoying live music, or watching women's soccer- all while drinking coffee.
