Oh hi, didn’t see you there! I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC), having put a nice bow, like one of those ginormous ones you see in car commercials, on my Masters degree in Clinical Counseling from Loyola University in Chicago. This therapy thing can be super bizarre, as it's two complete strangers engaging deeply in the most personal, sacred narratives you're carrying daily. Healing to me comes from the context of relationship, having someone walking alongside you that's authentic, genuine and invested deeply in you. It's seeing not simply what you currently are but also uncovering the version of you you're looking for. I'd imagine you didn't wake up this morning thinking, "You know what I feel like doing today? Researching a therapist to share the challenges I'm going through with someone I couldn't pick out of a police lineup!" It's an inescapable feeling that's likely been lingering. Let's explore it together in an environment that's affirming, supportive and life-giving
