Introduction

Hello, and welcome! I am Dr. Adi Soffer, a licensed clinical psychologist with a deep passion for helping individuals and families overcome psychological challenges and reaching their full potential. With a strong educational foundation and extensive clinical experience, I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s needs. Educational Background I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the State of California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, following a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine. My academic journey has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of psychological theories and practices, which I now apply in my clinical work. My dissertation examined the experience of first-time mothers, specifically the connection between expressing negative emotions and their overall quality of life. I found that openly acknowledging and expressing difficult emotions—such as anxiety, frustration, or overwhelm—plays a crucial role in improving well-being. This research informs my approach to helping new moms navigate the emotional challenges of motherhood in a healthy, supportive way. Clinical Expertise My work is characterized by a broad range of expertise in psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions. My clinical services include: • Comprehensive Assessments: I am experienced in administering full psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessments to children, adolescents, and adults. These assessments help in diagnosing developmental, educational, and social-emotional functioning, providing a clear roadmap for treatment. • Family Systems Therapy: I specialize in working with families using a family systems approach, which views the family as an interconnected unit where each member influences the dynamics of the whole. With extensive experience in addressing relational patterns, I help families develop healthier interactions and communication, focusing on improving relationships and emotional well-being. My approach also incorporates parent training to support parents in creating strong, supportive family structures. • OCD and Anxiety Related Disorders: I also specialize in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, a highly effective treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and other anxiety-related disorders. I work with both children and adults to help them manage and overcome these challenges. • Behavioral Approach: I employ a behavioral approach in my work, which is particularly effective in helping individuals modify disruptive behaviors and develop positive coping strategies. I currently work with parents, guiding them in using behavioral techniques to support their children’s development and manage behavioral challenges at home. Philosophy and Approach I believe in a holistic approach to mental health, where emotional, behavioral, and social competencies are nurtured to foster cognitive and psychological development. I am passionate about empowering children, families, and parents by providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive. Get in Touch I am dedicated to making a difference in the lives of my clients. If you’re looking for support for yourself, your child, or your family, I am here to help
