It is important for me to provide a safe and supportive environment where emotions, beliefs, and concerns can be shared and worked through. I believe therapy can help us process our experiences which may help decrease emotional distress and consider different options. Therapy may also help us gain an awareness of how learned behaviors, negative beliefs of self and unresolved issues from the past can affect our mental health. I have worked with adolescents, adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with relationship issues for 12 years. My approach to counseling utilizes evidence-based treatments which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, as well as Solution-Focused and Mindfulness therapy. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which can help one heal from distressing life experiences.
