Introduction

Whether I am working with a young child or an adult, I believe that the healing process is a journey of returning home to the authentic self with the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle supporting the exploration. My name is Aimee and I hope to walk along with you on this journey, offering compassion, co-regulation, and some education along the way. When we can lean into the understanding of how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors have come to be, we may also begin to explore where we may have gotten stuck and how we can have a renewed access to the wisdom and assets that our bodies possess. My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each individual I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and and am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I incorporate mindfulness into all of our sessions. Whichever the modality, we work to chart a path forward. Our first session together is usually focused on helping to build the therapeutic relationship between us by helping me to gain more insight into your life, current functioning, desires, and goals. I am okay with silence and will work with you at the pace you are comfortable with. I welcome you to reach out and get started today! Seeing NC and VA residents.
