Alanna Sadoff is a licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Rhode Island. For over 15 years she has worked with individuals, couples, and families to help them overcome a range of behavioral, psychological and emotional concerns. She specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, depression and mood related issues, anxiety, trauma and Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), relationship challenges, and life transitions. A PERSONALIZED APPROACH As a Licensed Psychotherapist, Alanna Sadoff is trained in evidenced based treatment modalities including The Gottman method of relationship therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and strength-based therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to build positive coping skills and work together with clients to uncover any unhealthy or negative thought patterns that might contribute to self-destructive behaviors and belief systems. Couples therapy is offered to clients who are in a relationship, contemplating marriage, or are currently married. It can be beneficial for couples who are looking to strengthen their relationship or for those dealing with the difficult issues surrounding a break-up, separation, or divorce. When appropriate to treatment, Alanna works closely with parents, a spouse or partner to help them better understand the inner experience of the client and to help strengthen patterns of communication and encourage supportive trusting relationships. EDUCATION AND LICENSING Alanna Sadoff, LMHC is a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association and the International Association of Trauma Professionals. She currently holds a certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and has been licensed in Rhode Island since 2008. . Prior to opening her Private Practice in 2009 she was the Assistant director of Mount Pleasant Academy, a pediatric psychiatric day hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. There she provided therapeutic services to children and their families who had challenging behaviorial, emotional and psychiatric needs. In addition to her private practice Alanna Sadoff is an EAP Consultant to a large technology corporation. At their RI location she provides in office and Telehealth support to employees who may be experiencing challenges related to job performance and personal wellness.
