I am a licensed professional counselor with over 7 years of experience in the mental health field. I received by master's in counseling from George Mason University and Doctorate in Counselor Education from William & Mary. My clinical focuses include helping clients recover from trauma and PTSD, addressing ADHD, anxiety and depression, and working with clients in recovery from addiction. I enjoy working collaboratively with my clients to work towards goals. I also work from a culturally responsive and affirmative model with LGBTQ+ populations, neurodiverse, and BIPOC individuals. I take a intersectional perspective that recognizes the societal harms of capitalism, racism, and oppression on mental health. As a counselor, I use a person-centered and strengths-based approach. I often work with clients on improving relationships, increasing self-awareness, and developing new coping skills. I am certified in offering mindfulness and DBT. I have been practicing mindfulness meditation for over 10 years and believe that mindfulness and Buddhist perspectives have a huge amount to offer us in finding freedom and peace. I have also received training in eye-movement-sensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) which is an evidenced-based treatment for trauma which can enhance the recovery and healing process. Mindful Outlook Counseling is dedicated towards fostering an inclusive and socially just practice. Towards that end we also offer a sliding scale fee to make therapy accessible for everyone.
