Hi! I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) committed to helping women identifying clients and LGBTQIA+ folks increase self-compassion and experience symptom relief through healing from painful experiences. My work focuses on creating a collaborative and non-judgemental space with clients to help them discover why they are struggling and work towards their continued growth. I utilize a directive humanistic, culturally-responsive, and trauma informed approach to therapy primarily utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Here is more information on EMDR: https://compassionworks.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/EMDR-CLIENT-HANDOUT.pdf It is important to acknowledge the oppressive systems that often contribute to the reasons clients are seeking therapy, and in my practice I am committed to continuing to learn how psychotherapy can be a tool of anti-oppression and collective liberation for all. If you’re interested in scheduling a 20 minute consultation call with me, please send me an email at alexa@counselingvt.com
