Dr. Alex Lalley provides a safe therapeutic space for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I have been providing psychotherapeutic and psychological assessment services to the Chicagoland community for the past 10 years and have been practicing primarily within the northside communities of Chicago since 2015. I am committed to providing a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic space that honors issues related to identity and intersectionality. During my career, I have worked with a broad range of psychological conditions and have specialized in the treatment of anxiety and mood-based conditions, Autism and ADHD in adults, personality disorders, complex trauma, and issues pertinent to members of the LGBTQIA+ community. My approach to psychotherapy is highly collaborative in nature, integrating principles of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and internal family systems theories. I believe that many of us struggle with unresolved psychological wounds and difficulties throughout life, whether from past relationships and traumas or from current stresses that are beyond our ability to manage. My goal is to help people more fully understand their difficulties in living through a deep exploration of the psychological processes that contribute to their distress and through an appreciation of how our current societal structures impact mental health. Working together to better understand the patterns and pitfalls we find ourselves facing and developing new ways of approaching life can help individuals live more satisfying, meaningful, and fulfilling lives. In addition to providing psychotherapeutic services, I also specialize in comprehensive psychological assessment services. I currently provide assessments for the differential diagnosis of ADHD and Autism in adolescents and adults. Additionally, I provide assessment services to better understand the lasting impact of trauma, develop differential diagnoses for complex clinical presentations, and to establish the need for academic accommodations at the high school and college level or on national exams. I am currently accepting adolescent and adult patients for psychotherapy and assessment services. In-person and virtual services are currently available.
