Hello, my name is Alex. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to introduce myself and potentially walk alongside you on your therapeutic journey. Seeking therapy can be a scary step, but it can also be the beginning of a truly meaningful chapter in your life. My mission is to support you in exploring your relationships, life experiences, and hopes for yourself to create meaningful change, connect authentically, experience growth/healing, and be fully present for your life. I firmly believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of successful therapy. Hence, building trust, mutual respect, and open communication with you is a priority for me. Due to this, I offer a free 15-minute consultation which provides an opportunity to see if we are a good fit. If at any point, you do not feel that I am a good fit, I will support you in finding a therapist that you love. I have had the privilege of working with clients from various backgrounds and with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, grief, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and personal development. I believe that each individual is unique, and therefore, I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs and challenges. I work with individuals and have a passion for relational therapy (couples, marriage, friends, families, etc). What will our sessions be like? I draw from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, but primarily utilize Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). SFT is a strength-based, goal-oriented, feedback-informed, collaborative modality that revolves around the therapeutic goals that we will outline together. Additionally, we will explore the systems to which you belong (community, family, workplace, geographical location, identity, etc), as these systems have an immense impact on you and vice versa. In our sessions, we will not only focus on addressing immediate/future concerns but also delve into deeper emotional/interactional patterns and past experiences that might be influencing your present well-being. My aim is to create a safe and compassionate space where you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. I also believe that each individual (including YOU) is capable of creating effective change in their lives by learning from their life experience to inform and create unique/personalized solutions that can last beyond treatment. Within my training as a clinician, I have worked in a variety of settings. I have worked in a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) providing Eating Disorder treatment collaboratively with a team of other professionals. I have also had clinical experience working with individuals, couples, relationships, and families. I have an intimate familiarity with the military community and a passion for serving this community along with clinical experience working on a military base, supporting active duty personnel, veterans, and military spouses/families. Regarding my education, I obtained a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA and am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in the State of Washington (MG61328967). My practice is currently 100% virtual, which means you can attend therapy without ever having to leave the comfort of your home. If you are interested in seeing if we could be a good fit, please contact me to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
