I believe in authentic, creative connection, deep listening, and honest reflection. I believe that you are enough, just as you are. I believe that people need people and that we weren’t meant to navigate this journey alone. By serving as your witness and companion, our process will be one that is holistic and collaborative as we journey inward toward a destination of acceptance, growth, and compassionate understanding. I use a trauma informed approach while providing queer and gender affirming care. I want to help individuals find where they have power, not just help them adjust to oppression, find their inner voice and feel empowered to use it. My approach is centered around resilience: using the strengths and wisdom within you to rise above the challenges you are facing. I believe that our experiences, particularly traumatic ones, are stored in our bodies, and many times we are unable to access them through verbal expression. Art therapy provides an opportunity to explore the unconscious and parts of the brain where words might not exist. Through somatic psychotherapy, we are able to strengthen the mind/body connection, release pain and tension connected to trauma, and regulate our nervous system with ease.
