Do you feel as though you are seen and understood in relationships? Maybe you struggle to find affirmation in your needs and desires. Or have you at times felt like you are "too much" or "not enough"? You are not alone. Many of us struggle to feel "normal" in a world that pathologizes who we are and how we function. This can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and the world around us. It can prevent us from accessing the fullness of our wisdom. But here, in therapy, our relationship can offer a warm and affirming space to more deeply consider who you are and what you want. Through mindfulness and somatic attunement, I will support you in strengthening the connections between your heart, body and mind so you can feel more grounded, connected and whole. As a fat, queer person I am rooted in anti-racism, social justice & fat liberation. I work with clients to understand how larger cultural systems impact our relationships & identities. My approach is relational and I collaborate with clients to move through challenges from a strengths-based perspective. I believe everyone deserves to be seen, heard & valued. Typical concerns of my clients include managing the effects of trauma and shame, relationship issues, body image, identity exploration, and grief and loss. As a therapist, I work to center your lived experience. I'm committed to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, including those who are non-binary, gender diverse, and individuals exploring their sexuality and/or identities. I have experience working with folks in non-traditional relationships and take an affirming stance on sex work. I recognize all forms of oppression to be inseparable from experiences of mental health. You are the expert on your own life and already hold all the wisdom you need to be healed and whole. I want to support you in aligning with your intuitive, authentic self - becoming more fully you! I see us working as a team, discovering and appreciating all parts of you and your healing. Together we can build the skills you may need to better inhabit your body, experience pleasure & joy, and take up space in your life & relationships!
