Introduction

Hello, I'm Alexandra (she/her), a Licensed Social Worker and owner of A. McCaffery, LLC. I look forward to empowering clients to explore their strengths, heal from past experiences, gain deeper understanding of their emotions and thought patterns, develop healthy coping skills, and embrace positive change in their lives! I graduated with a BS in Human Development and Family Science in 2015 and completed my MSW in 2019. I began working as a therapist specializing in working with children and teens who had experienced trauma, often alongside their parents and guardians, to promote healing and change in themselves and within their family systems. In 2021, I moved to Colorado and continued my work with children and teens, specializing in trauma work, attachment/relationships, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life transitions/experiences. While I look forward to continuing my work with youth, I also work with individual adults and couples. My therapeutic approach is to meet my clients where they are in each moment, with a person-centered and strengthsbased view. I seek to provide a safe and affirming therapeutic experience, with respect towards all cultures and identities. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), and the Gottman Method to inform my approaches and interventions.
