Introduction

Alexandrea Maratea is the founder and CEO of Talking Towards Healing Mental Health Counseling. Alexandrea obtained her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the College of Staten Island and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Diagnostic Privilege. Alexandrea specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of mental health needs. Therapy is a passage to understanding and discovering all aspects of yourself. I strive to create a comfortable space for you to self-explore while feeling safe and understood. Therapy is a collaborative process, a partnership between the client and the therapist and should remain respectful, trusting, and transparent. The therapy room is the space for you to be your complete authentic self, free of judgment and full of motivation and support. My training and experience as a therapist has been focused in Cognitive behavioral therapy. I believe in the importance of guiding clients towards understanding the connection and impact their thoughts have on their feelings, experiences, and behaviors. Together we learn to identify, accept, and challenge these thoughts to adjust your perspective. Therapy is beneficial when the therapeutic relationship is based on collaboration, respect, honesty, and authenticity. My overall goal during the therapy process is to be my clients “one”. That ONE person they feel comfortable being their authentic self with; that one person they feel does not judge them and accepts them for who they are. I whole heartedly believe in the therapeutic process and look forward to helping you to achieve their goals and begin talking towards the healing process!
