Hello! My name is Alexis Abbott and I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW). I have provided treatment to teens, families, and adults across the lifespan in outpatient settings and intensive outpatient programs. I have a strong interest in helping adults navigate life's complexities, from managing stress and overcoming past traumas to improving relationships and adapting to major transitions. I also have extensive experience working with symptoms of anxiety and depression. I know that life can feel overwhelming at times and it’s easy to feel lost while navigating unexpected paths with challenges along the way. I want you to find your place in this world and it is important to me to bring a compassionate, nonjudgmental and empathetic energy to our sessions, while understanding that we all may need some encouragement at times. I am a strengths-based, humanistic therapist and I have training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also find a lot of value in incorporating mindfulness practices in and outside of my sessions. I will always adjust my approach to fit your life experiences and we will work together to ensure that we are addressing what feels most important to you. I aim to empower you and help you find clarity and build confidence and resilience as you navigate your journey towards healing and growth. Together, we can work on issues related to trauma, relationships with others and ourselves, life transitions and changes, depression, anxiety and many other aspects of life that may be difficult for you. I hope to support you as we navigate through these challenging seasons of life.
