Introduction

ABOUT MY SERVICES -Individuals- You find yourself struggling to be understood. There are times when you don’t even understand why you do the things you do or think the things you think. There’s a reason you’re feeling that way. You might not understand what that is right now, but by moving through your discomfort rather than moving on from it, you can better understand your motivations and heal. Therapy with me can provide a safe and private space for you to talk through your troubles with a supportive partner and help you understand yourself better. -Couple's Counseling- You’ve finally admitted that you need help. How brave of you! You and your partner are struggling to communicate effectively. You’re out of fresh ideas on how to make the relationship work well. You want to take things from bad to good or good to great. You’re seeking a better understanding of your relationship, and skills to address your challenges in proven effective ways. Therapy with me can help provide that safe space to engage with a third party, talk through what’s been going on in the relationship and learn how to make life better. I primarily use the Gottman Method for couple’s counseling. *One-time additional fee for Gottman Connect Assessment of around $40. -Cult Recovery Therapy- You may have recently left a high control group and need a supportive partner to talk you through what has happened to you, or it may have been years since you left your group and you feel you're ready to start coming to terms with what you experienced. You may have been born and raised in a high control religion or high control group and are seeking ways to individuate yourself outside of that philosophy. You may have joined a group as an adult and need help understanding the choices that you've made and the undue influence that led you there. No matter what your path to this point, therapy with me can help you begin or continue to unpack your experiences. I believe that all human behavior has an explanation. I think you’re a human who has been harmed and that your story is unique. I’d like to hear your story. Most of all I believe that with the right support, healing is possible. If you think we might be a good fit on your healing journey, please reach out. ABOUT ME Alexis Baker (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas and Certified Trauma Professional (CCTP) with a Master’s in Counseling from Cal State Long Beach. After a decade as a professional school counselor, she made the leap to private practice, where she helps individuals and couples navigate the ups, downs, and "Wait... how did we get here?" moments of life and relationships. She’s Gottman Level I certified, a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, and a proud LGBTQ+ ally. When she’s not in therapist mode, you can find her baking (because therapy and cookies go hand in hand) or chasing her two kids, one husband, and one very good dog around outside.
