I’m Aliese (she/her) and I’m a Boston-based therapist on a mission to change the narrative of mental health and wellness for the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community. I believe that each person is the expert of their own experience and are the source of their own solutions. My style is guided by a human-centered, collectivist, and strengths-focused approach and I like to include a blend of techniques and interventions that are rooted in Narrative Therapy, Liberation Psychology, Solutions Focused Therapy, and mindfulness during my sessions. I bring a playful, creative approach to my therapeutic relationships and strive to ask strong questions during sessions and in the form of journal prompts that allow folks to expand their thoughts and challenge their assumptions. My areas of expertise include supporting folks who identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ who struggle with anxiety disorders, identity formation, racial trauma, chronic stress, burnout, life transitions, self-compassion, relationships, and/or imposter syndrome. In our therapeutic relationship I am dedicated to meet you where you’re at, empower you to embrace your strengths and resiliency, teach you skills that will benefit your mental wellness, and uplift your voice so you can speak your truth and embrace all of your identities confidently. Whether you have been in psychotherapy before, you are trying it out for the first time, or are anywhere in between, I encourage you to unapologetically bring your full self to our sessions and take a chance on yourself. If my style and approach resonate with you and you think we may be a good fit to start therapy together, I would love to meet you!
