Hi, I'm Allison Meins, PsyD, a Licensed Psychologist with a virtual private practice, based in Roseville, CA. The benefits of a virtual practice are that I can work with you so long as you are located within the California state border. I specialize in working with adults & teens as they navigate anxiety, perfectionism, self-worth, relationship and communication issues, grief and loss, depression, and transitions during various life stages. Many of my licensed years have focused on working with college and graduate students in California. I'm is a proud first generation college graduate with a down to earth approach to connecting with others. My approach is collaborative, inclusive, and playful. A great day of therapy to me is one that is filled with laughter, crying, anger, and smiles. Life is a roller-coaster and I’m here for the wild, sometimes messy, ride. For those of you interested in the more technical side of things, I use an integrative approach to therapy, drawing skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) while speaking to you as a fellow human using a Humanistic and Relational approach. Together, we will explore patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We will strengthen the patterns that already work well for you and look into changing the patterns that are not working so well, so that you can achieve the outcomes you are looking for and live a life of meaning and purpose. My goal is to support, encourage, and challenge you to live the life you want to lead and improve your relationships with others, starting with yourself. I never judge my clients, but instead seek to understand them from a place of acceptance. Working with clients from a variety of ages and cultural backgrounds has made me the therapist I am today. I look forward to meeting you soon!
