My practical approach: My overall goal is to develop a safe and respectful therapeutic relationship in order to foster healing and growth. Because of this, my approach to therapy is collaborative in nature and I utilize techniques and strategies from a number of therapeutic theories. I believe that each client is unique and likewise, so is our work together. In general though, I begin with helping a client to identify their individual goals and understand their journey thus far. Then we work together to meet their immediate goals and, having strengthened their skills, we build on that momentum to assist in making the larger, systemic changes that will allow them to achieve their larger goals and establish long lasting results. My professional background: I earned my doctorate degree at George Fox University and am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Oregon. I have been afforded the opportunity to work in a variety of outpatient settings with different populations but have maintained an expertise in children, adolescents, and young adults. I also have experience working in the schools and am able to collaborate with school staff to help students find success in the academic realm. I am a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider.
