My ideal client is someone who shows up to therapy completely genuine and ready to work. They are someone who has some insight and understanding into their problems and want to collaborate on finding a solution to help them be the best version of themselves. I am here to support my clients and be a gentle and caring presence while encouraging them to put in the hard work to change themselves. I like to think of the therapy relationship as a car getting the client to their goal. The client is the engine putting in the effort to move forward, while I am the steering wheel, helping guide in the best way I can. As a team we can get you to where you want to go! I most often use cognitive behavioral therapy-based treatments. In our first session, we will plan to explore your reasons for coming to therapy, your goals, and what’s important to you. Using a CBT-based approach, we will then take a look at the ways that your thinking patterns, mood, and behaviors are all connected. During treatment we will work on helping you develop more helpful thinking patterns, manage your mood, and learn skills to change your unwanted behaviors. I specialize in person-centered and trauma-informed approaches to cognitive behavioral therapy. I offer expertise in a number of evidence-based treatments for presenting concerns such as anxiety, trauma-related disorders (such as PTSD), depression, and personality disorders. Through my experience I have developed skills and expertise to assist clients in reaching their full potential. You can learn more about me and my team at www.vcstherapy.com.
