Introduction

Dr. Amanda di Bartolomeo (she/her) is a licensed psychologist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She has been trained by the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion as a self-compassion focused therapist. Areas of specialty include generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and perfectionism and procrastination concerns. Dr. di Bartolomeo works with eating and body image concerns from a body-positive and health-at-every-size perspective. She has completed The TLC Foundation for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors Professional Training Institute for the treatment of skin-picking, nail-biting, and hair-pulling (trichotillomania). Dr. di Bartolomeo is queer-identified and has a special interest in culturally responsive evidence-based therapies that integrate contextual and identity factors into treatment. Dr. di Bartolomeo completed her undergraduate degree at Vassar College and earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from George Mason University. She trained at American University and the Lambda Center at the Psychiatric Institute of Washington. She completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the University of Southern California Student Psychological Services and a post-doctoral fellowship at California State University, Fullerton Counseling and Psychological Services. Dr. di Bartolomeo previously worked at UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services where she was a clinical supervisor and at California State University Northridge as the Peer Education Program Coordinator. She has been recognized by the American Group Psychotherapy Association as a Donald T. Brown Memorial Scholarship Recipient for her work within the LGBTQIA+ communities. In addition to her work at CBT Los Angeles, Dr. di Bartolomeo facilitates professional consultation groups through the Self-Compassion in Psychotherapy (SCIP) certificate program.
