With nearly two decades of experience as a mental health therapist specializing in perinatal mental health, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals through the transformative experiences of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood. In addition to my work as a therapist, I’ve also served as a doula, childbirth educator, and college professor. My passion for understanding and improving maternity care led to my dissertation research, where I explored the complexities of birth in America. As one of the first in my state to earn certification in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International, I’ve been deeply committed to my roles as an educator, activist, and provider for years, working to expand access to evidence-based maternity care and mental health services. I founded Meadowlark Clinic to create a space that offers compassionate, decolonized therapeutic support to individuals and families. Beyond serving our clients, I’m passionate about mentoring the next generation of therapists. In my practice, I take an eclectic approach, incorporating EMDR, mindfulness, ACT, feminist, and narrative therapies to meet clients where they are. I have a special affinity for working with those who experience anxiety and aim to create a space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their healing journeys. I love collaborating with my community, especially when it involves supporting small, local, and minority-owned businesses. I am the author of Dear Mama, You Matter: Honest Talk about the Transition to Motherhood (2020) - available in paperback or audiobook format.
