My counseling practice draws from multiple theoretical orientations, including cognitive behavioral and person-in-environment theories. I am highly informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychoeducation. CBT is a treatment modality that can help you think differently about your experiences and your relationships, with the goal of making some positive changes within your life. CBT is based on the idea that how we think, how we feel, and how we act are all closely related. Psychoeducation is a therapeutic intervention that helps provide clients and their family with information and support to better understand and cope with their illnesses. I also have extensive experience with trauma and understanding how trauma impacts the brain and day-to-day functioning within our own lives. My goal is to help you develop coping skills, and tangible support/interventions, to reduce symptoms of emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with trauma experiences.
