Hi there! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Amber (she/her), and I am a therapist at Grounded Wellbeing. My primary focus areas are trauma and co-occurring addiction, although I enjoy working with a variety of clients. I work to hold a warm, compassionate, and supportive space welcome to all. The core of my therapeutic style is strengths-oriented, nonjudgemental, and empathic. I work from an attachment-based framework and believe a secure therapeutic relationship is vital to the healing process. I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other resources to build coping skills. I’ve also found parts work to be extremely beneficial when working with trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, and more. I value mindfulness and enjoy incorporating mindful practices into my sessions. I graduated in 2017 with an MSW and am under supervision with Lisa Ehlers, LCSW. I deeply believe that you are the expert of your lived experiences, and I take a collaborative approach, working with my clients to determine what methods work best for them. I value feedback and intentionally check-in throughout my sessions, ensuring we move at a comfortable pace. My own lived experience with trauma and healing informs how I create spaces for clients. Taking this first step towards healing is incredibly brave and can be scary. I am dedicated to compassionately helping clients through that fear as they heal. I prioritize building safety and trust within this space first. We spend our first few sessions simply getting to know one another and building the therapeutic relationship, along with building coping skills that you can utilize both in and out of sessions. I am client-led and allow you to be in control of the pace of the sessions. You’ll find me to be a pretty laid back, welcoming, and validating therapist. I believe in showing up authentically in this space. I have tattoos, I like putting my feet up, and I’m almost always dressed in leggings and an oversized sweater. I value comfort and encourage you to show up to sessions in a way that you’re most comfortable too. In my off time, you’ll likely find me playing guitar & singing with my fiancé, starting a new DIY home project, traveling, spending time outside, or cuddling with my two pups. I love to read historical fiction & self-help books. I also love a good TV show. If you have any questions or think we might be a good fit, please reach out, and we’ll set up a complimentary phone consultation. I look forward to working with you on your healing journey!
