Are you struggling to cope with life circumstances or having a difficult time adjusting to change? Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, alone, or unmotivated? Have you experienced trauma within your family, and are you feeling ready to address it head on so that you can reduce the negative impact its having in your relationships with yourself and others? Are you in early or long-term recovery from addiction? Or have you been impacted by a loved one in active addiction/recovery and looking for help from an experienced clinician who understands the disease of addiction and the process of recovery? I would love to be a resource and considered to help any adults with substance use disorder(s), co-occurring mental health issues, and/or trauma. Alternatively, I also enjoy working with spouses or other adult family members seeking individual therapy to support a loved one in active addiction/recovery, to learn the role they play, to navigate and cope through the recovery process, and/or to work on their own healing from the trauma of their loved one's addiction/addictive behavior. My experience has involved a special interest/focus on addressing unresolved trauma and other characteristic issues experienced by those -Adult Children- raised in addicted or dysfunctional families (developmental/relational trauma, abandonment, grief/loss, codependency, low self-esteem, toxic/carried shame, poor self-care, poor communication skills and boundaries, emotional dysregulation, and others). I am an Adult Child in long-term recovery myself, as well as a Neurodivergent (ADHD) clinician, which has helped me to connect with clients who have these challenges and also given me strong passion and enthusiasm to do this work. I truly enjoy working with adults who struggle with Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders (ex. Alcohol, Opioids, Nicotine), Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ex. Autism, ADHD), Mood Disorders (ex. Bipolar, Depression), Anxiety Disorders (ex. Panic, GAD), and Trauma and Stressor-Related Disorders (ex. PTSD, Adjustment, Prolonged Grief). I have over 8 years of experience helping individual adults impacted by the family disease of addiction and the co-occurring issues that come along with it in a variety of treatment settings, including court-mandated therapeutic communities, outpatient treatment, inpatient detoxification and residential treatment, and medication-assisted treatment. I primarily employ a blend of Person-Centered and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, incorporating Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and Reality Therapy where appropriate, but I have experience using a variety of therapeutic modalities and can adjust my approach and interventions based upon your specific needs and goals. I am in the process of becoming trained in ART, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, also referred to as Voluntary Image Replacement, which is a brief therapy approach, developed by Laney Rosenzweig, LMFT, involving imagery rescripting and memory reconsolidation to facilitate rapid and long-lasting recovery from symptoms associated with trauma, depression, addiction, and other mental health issues. I will be able to begin providing ART on 12/10/24. I am self-pay only and unable to accept insurance at this time. I can provide a superbill to facilitate reimbursement.
