Amy Coombs is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Lehi, Utah. Amy helps clients who feel stuck in their lives – stuck in a mental health condition like depression or anxiety, stuck in a new or recently diagnosed chronic illness, stuck in who they are or what they want, or stuck in a relationship. Amy accompanies clients as they heal and challenge themselves to find greater comfort and satisfaction out of their lives. Amy works with individuals, couples, and families to reach their goals through introspection, skills development, and empowerment. Amy’s approach to therapy depends on the client’s situation. For individuals, she utilizes Internal Family Systems, as is an integrative approach to therapy that promotes self-compassion emphasizes an individual’s strengths for greater self-understanding. She also draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based therapy modalities. Amy understands chronic pain and illness and engages clients in coping strategies and compassionately assists in processing uncomfortable emotions like anger, sadness, frustration, disappointment, grief, and more. Clients also learn how to increase their self-awareness and use this self-awareness to grow into a more authentic self. Amy earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She is a strong advocate for mental health across the country and lobbies in favor of trauma-informed approaches in the justice system. Her aim is to provide accessible mental health care for clients of all ages, identities, and backgrounds.
