Hi, I'm Amy Kapp, LMSW. I have over a decade of experience working with preschool-aged children, their families, and teachers. Much of that work has been with children who have confusing and/or challenging behaviors, as well as children who are neurodiverse. I've been studying and teaching about the effects of trauma on children for over a decade. I have experience working with foster and adoptive children, as well as parenting foster and adoptive children. I'm also a parent leader who works with groups of foster and adoptive parents across the state of Michigan. I view behaviors through the lens of the polyvagal theory and interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB). I put a high emphasis on the value of relationships, and have a strong background in early childhood and infant mental health. My clients have described me as compassionate, resourceful, and understanding. I'm committed to helping my clients grow stronger connections with the children in their care.
