As a Licenses Clinical Professional Counselor, Amy M.A. Ives, M.A., LCPC has experience with a wide range of clients, but has a special spot in her heart working with individuals with issues around trauma, including rape, molestation, medical trauma, spousal abuse, and grief. She is very adept at working with clients with depression and anxiety, including harder cases who are non-responsive to medication. She has a deep appreciation and love for the military as she comes from a military family and has experience with the issues of transitioning to a civilian life. Amy respects client readiness and does her upmost best to create a therapeutic environment that enables clients to feel safe enough to disclose and let go of deeply held pain while feeling encouraged and supported. She likes to utilize client strengths and values to assist them in strengthening weaknesses and building a strong foundation for the future. She is adept at helping young women make a healthy transition into adulthood, couples in building a team sense of togetherness and unity, and families in building loving relationships. Amy uses a Biological-Psychological-Social-Spiritual approach to wellness that is holistic and empowers clients to reach their goals, as well as the latest psychotherapy treatments. Faith-based counseling is offered to anyone who requests it. Amy has many years of offering this service in an ethical manner and specialized experience in assisting anyone with religious trauma who is wanting to maintain their faith.
