Introduction

I specialize in working with clients seeking help with anxiety-related issues including social anxiety, panic attacks, uncontrollable worry, specific phobias, obsessions and compulsions (OCD), and posttraumatic stress (PTSD). I have dedicated myself to becoming an expert in exposure therapy, a behavioral psychotherapeutic approach that is scientifically supported for anxiety disorders. I also see clients struggling with mood disorders and co-occurring substance use issues. I strive for a collaborative and validating therapeutic environment in which proven cognitive-behavioral strategies are applied flexibly and driven by the latest science. I’ve received intensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety and mood-related problems at UCLA’s Anxiety & Depression Research Center under the supervision of my doctoral mentor, Dr. Michelle Craske. While on my predoctoral internship at the San Diego VA, I completed year-long rotations in the La Jolla PTSD Clinic and Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program where I gained in-depth training in evidence-based treatments for posttraumatic stress and substance use. I also have formal training and experience in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) gained through my predoctoral externship at Harbor UCLA. I’ve published numerous peer-reviewed articles on anxiety and related disorders. I’ve also authored book chapters on exposure therapy, evidence-based approaches for generalized anxiety, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
