My view of myself as a therapist can best be summarized by the following quote: “I am a lighthouse rather than a lifeboat. I do not rescue, but instead help others to find their own way to shore, guiding them by my example.” – Unknown Maybe you have been living with depression and anxiety or feeling outcasted in life for as long as you can remember. Perhaps you are an adult who was recently medically or self-diagnosed as neurodivergent. You could be an individual or couple seeking out new ways to build and maintain healthy intimacy or looking to explore your varying personal and sexual identities. No matter what brings you to therapy, I firmly believe that human connection is at the center of each of our lived experiences. Through a trauma-informed lens and client-centered approach, we will utilize the positive connection built within the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for you to engage in the healing and growth you desire. My diverse clinical experience and eclectic approach allow me to work with you based on your unique wants and needs. My personal beliefs and values are straightforward: I believe in transparency, authenticity, and the power of communication. When we give ourselves permission to live a life rooted in those three concepts, we can begin to live as the best version of ourselves. Politically, I am quite liberal in my beliefs and the topics of patriarchy, capitalism, toxic masculinity, and the challenges of things being perceived to exist in the binary will frequently, albeit naturally, arise in sessions. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending my free time, usually with a coffee in hand, building and maintaining positive connections with my partner and children; new and long-standing friends; my two rescue dogs; and even the occasional stranger. Reach out and let’s explore how you can enhance your capacity to live life as your most authentic self!
