I want to live in a world where people can be authentic about who and how they are. My approach begins with empathy. Each person I work with is unique and important to me. I believe that each person has intrinsic value and deserves to be treated with respect and concern. We are all a work in progress and worthy of the compassion of others. I work with adults and couples. I use effective strategies for helping individuals, couples and families who have difficulty hearing each other to develop more effective ways to communicate and solve problems and to pursue the things they value most. I provide empathetic, clinical strategies personally tailored to you and your family’s needs. I have training in a variety of approaches, including evidence-based models, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Counseling (Level Two). I tend to think that if things go well and you reach your goal, it has less to do with what we do in the counseling office and more to do with what you do in your own life, family and community. It is my hope that the things we work on in sessions will empower you with a new way of reaching goals that will work in the real world and not just in my office.
