I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas (Go Cowboys!), I come from family of teachers. I began my professional career as a teacher for 9 years before becoming a school counselor for 4 years. I received my undergraduate degree in Education from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK and my Master's degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas. Traveling is my most favorite thing to do, and if there's a beach involved, I'm there! Throughout my years in education, I developed a passion in helping people. Seeing the children and families I served have to overcome so many emotional, economical, and social issues, I realized that I wanted to do more outside of the school setting. Earning my Master's in Counseling, I sought to work with adults who were unfulfilled and impaired in their life functioning, which unfortunately negatively impacted their children. With over 10 years of experience, I specialize in working with adults suffering from depression, grief, anger, anxiety, and general life functioning. I also work with couples (premarital and married) and families through use of strategies and skills to promote healthy relationships. Using CBT and other cognitive strategies, I provide a comfortable, supporting, and relaxing environment where my clients can feel free to explore their feelings and behaviors and set goals to achieve the satisfying and fulfilling life they desire. Working together, we will use practical and relatable strategies to help you achieve your goals. I understand that the decision to seek counseling can be a difficult first step to make. Taking that step together, we will work towards helping you to take control of your life and experience the fullness of all that life has to offer. I look forward to working with you!
