I’m Angela. I’m a queer, Black-biracial, first generation therapist with an intersectional, feminist and relational approach. I am committed to liberation work with individuals, organizations, and communities and believe that every one of us deserves to live an authentic, fulfilling life. The pressures of everyday life can leave us with a sense of inadequacy and loneliness, hindering our ability to live fully. You might be feeling unmotivated, overwhelmed, anxious or depressed. Maybe you’re processing loss or looking for meaning. Each of our stories is unique, and feeling like an outsider can be an added challenge. This othering could be based on experiences of trauma, marginalized identities, or not fitting into the expected boxes based on race, religion, sexuality, culture, or other factors. I’m here to create a safe, collaborative space for you to celebrate, grieve, explore and grow. I believe in the power of expressing emotions, understanding patterns and exploring deeply held beliefs. I want you to feel empowered in your journey. And I integrate an awareness of oppressive systems while maintaining a connection to joy so that therapy itself can be a tool for liberation. I draw on my background, identities and experience in a wide range of professional environments to give room to the complexity of contradiction and in-betweens. Before becoming a therapist, I studied Physics, worked in finance, and spent time in both startup and non-profit organizations. I’ve been practicing yoga for over 10 years, I find it extremely satisfying to cross something off a to-do list, and feel most peaceful when looking up at a full moon.
