I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. I have practiced for 14 years. I am Latina, bilingual Spanish and English speaking, first-generation, Mexican American. I am a daughter to immigrant parents. I began my private practice, Raíces y Heart Therapy, because of the need for cultural humility and a trauma informed approach to therapy for marginalized, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. As a therapist, I am dedicated to a client centered, whole person, and compassionate approach to therapy. Emphasis is placed on collaboration, ethics, cultural humility, and the dismantling of the effects of oppression on our mental health. I provide EMDR therapy and integrate EMDR Therapy into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) amongst other evidenced based practices as well as mindfulness practices to historically marginalized communities, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA members. My areas of healing expertise are: trauma and complex trauma, oppression, trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, inner child healing, generational trauma, perinatal/postpartum mood disorders, perinatal/postpartum trauma, cultural stress, and life transitions.
