My work with people focuses on increasing awareness of patterns in relating to self and others. Within the context of the therapeutic relationship, we work together to explore the influence of past and present experiences that can interact to shape and sometimes limit perspective. This increased self-awareness enables patients to respond in new ways to emotional and relational patterns. As a psychologist, I work to empower my clients by helping them to build upon their strengths and to develop an accurate sense of self and better communicate interpersonal needs in relationships. I work with a wide range of individuals who struggle with issues of depression, patterns of self-defeating behavior, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, sense of self, life transition, grief/loss, and trauma. Our work helps clients to expand and practice positive coping strategies and ultimately use their own voices and sense of self-determination to help clients lead more fulfilling lives.
