Anna obtained her Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Creighton University, her Master’s degree in Social Work from University of Missouri-Kansas City, and her Play Therapy Certification from Heartland Play Therapy. Anna is a clinical therapist seeing children, teens, and families who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Anna uses Play Therapy, Sand Tray, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and TF-CBT (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) as her primary therapeutic modalities, but is also skilled in utilizing Child Parent Psychotherapy. Anna began her love for working with children and teens when she worked as a behavioral therapist for 3 years at Monroe Meyer Institute's Autism Center, in Omaha, Nebraska. She worked in the severe behavior department using Applied Behavioral Analysis to help children and teens manage their behaviors. Anna has 6 years of experience working in various school settings around the Kansas City area. During her graduate program, Anna completed her practicums at Horizon Academy and Academie Lafayette as an in-school social work intern. She also worked as an in-school clinical therapist at four different schools for Mattie Rhodes Center. Anna is dedicated to helping clients reach their full potential using a holistic approach. She believes that therapy is not a one-size fits all for her clients. She believes that with the proper therapeutic approach, hard work, and counseling, healing can be achieved.
