ANNA JOHNSON, MSW, LICSW Welcome! I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker specializing in adolescents and young adults, especially hard-to-engage teen boys who struggle with emotional expression and think therapy is "not for them". With a compassionate, genuine, non-judgmental approach, I focus on creating a safe space in which each individual feels heard and understood, while promoting awareness, growth, and change. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles as well as have specialized training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a trauma-based therapy approach in my work. I have been practicing therapy for the past 10+ years in various clinical settings including inpatient hospitals, partial hospitalization programs, and outpatient therapy clinics. I am energized by youth and young adults who teach me just as much as I teach them (especially about the latest trends and social media influencers). With permission, I love to collaborate with schools, primary care physicians, and parents, as needed, to support you in all of your different spaces. EDUCATION M.S.W. University of Minnesota- Twin Cities B.A. University of Wisconsin-Madison CERTIFICATES/SPECIALIZED TRAINING/AFFILIATIONS Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker 2013 #21122 LICSW Board Approved Supervisor, Board of Social Work 2013 Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Advanced & Enhanced certified 2023, Master ART Practicioner Exposure and Response Prevention for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder OCD, 2022 Member of International Society of Accelerated Resolution Therapists (IS-ART) PRIVATE PAY I am not an in-network provider for any insurance carriers; however, you may be able to utilize your out-of-network benefits, health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA) for therapy sessions. I encourage prospective clients to contact their insurance company to request information in writing about what coverage they have for out-of-network benefits. You will pay for your sessions on the day of your appointment and will be given an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many clients have found that due to high deductibles with their insurance plans, they will need to pay out of pocket for much, if not all, of their therapy services and find benefit in working with someone whom they feel is a good fit for them, rather than who their plan dictates. I decided not to work directly with insurance companies for several reasons, the foremost being that it enables me to provide the best services possible to my clients.
