I understand that living with or after a medical issue is personal, dynamic, and on-going. I want to be with you every step of the way. I have focused on health/medical psychology throughout my career, and have expertise in numerous research-backed treatments for medical conditions, as well as the stress, anxiety, and/or depression that often come along with them. My clients tell me that they appreciate being able to connect with someone who recognizes their real-life experiences and struggles. My style is down-to-earth, warm, and interactive, and I tend to use compassionate humor in my work. I earned my Ph.D. in Health Psychology at The Ohio State University, and completed my internship and post-doctoral fellowship in Behavioral Medicine at the Palo Alto Veterans Administration Medical Center. I worked for many years at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Cancer Center in the Psycho-Oncology program, and prior to that as a psychologist in a primary care clinic at Kaiser Permanente. I have authored numerous articles and presentations in the psycho-oncology field. You can often find me exploring the mountains, beaches, and lakes of the beautiful (if sometimes cold) New England region. I am based out of Boston, and spent many years in the San Francisco Bay area. I am licensed and serving patients in both Massachusetts and California.
