Introduction

Welcome to my practice. I am a New York State licensed clinical psychologist with over twenty years of training and experience. I work with children & parents, teens as well as adults of all ages. I bring to the therapeutic process a focused presence, a sense of humor, and a strong belief that growth emerges from insight and self-knowledge. My work is psychodynamically informed and I use other therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral approaches as those best serve my clients. I treat in English and German. I began my training in 1999 as a field student at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Kravis Children's Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit, learning about working with children at the bedside and in groups, utilizing art and play therapy modalities. At that time I also joined the Beth Israel Medical Center, The Continuum Center for Health and Healing and I worked with this institution for the next five years, first coordinating educational and community outreach programs as well as researching and assessing trends in the field of integrative medicine. In 2003/2004 I was a co-investigator to a research study exploring integrative mind/body group treatments for depression to develop a multi-modal treatment to improve mood, interpersonal functioning, health status, and quality of life. I began my doctoral training in clinical psychology in 2000 and completed a pre-doctoral internship at The New York Psychoanalytic Institute, which included training at the Bernard Pacella Parent-Child Center, PS 6, The Lillie Deveraux Blake School, NYC, as well as training at one of the psychiatric inpatient units at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. After earning my doctoral degree in 2012 I stayed on at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute as a postdoctoral fellow, receiving advanced training in psychological testing and continuing my psychotherapy training with adolescents, parents, and individual adults. I have been in private practice since 2012. In 2019 I became the consulting psychologist at the German International School in White Plains, New York, K through 12 grades. My office is in Hartsdale, NY; in response to the Corona Virus, I am now exclusively working with clients remotely. I have utilized telemental health for some time so I am experienced in this modality and am able to provide effective, secure and HIPPA compliant telehealth services.
