April Easter has 20 years of experience in the counseling field, as well as extensive experience as a trainer and consultant. April’s work is person centered at its core and draws heavily on the neurobiology of trauma, attachment research and somatic psychotherapy. She has training in Somatic Psychotherapy, DBT, CBT, EMDR, IFS, Motivational Interviewing, ARISE intervention, and Expressive Arts Therapy. April interweaves techniques and skill building with archetypal and psychodynamic approaches to healing. April has worked with people who have complex trauma (including dissociative disorders), problematic substance use patterns, thought disorders, mood disorders, as well as folks who just want to change a few things about their lives. She also has specific training and expertise in working with survivors of narcissistic abuse. A speciality area of practice for April is family work. April draws from her training in emotionally focused couples therapy and family systems theory, as well as her experience working in intensive outpatient and residential programs, to help clients and families work towards sustainable change and healing intergenerational patterns. April is available as a family coach and consultant, and has worked with families around the world. April lives in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina with her wife and daughter.
