Introduction

Welcome. My name is April Pence and I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), a certified EMDR Therapist, as well an EMDR Consultant-in-Training (CIT). I have witnessed the power of EMDR Therapy to permanently transform those struggling with a variety of issues. As humans, we are remarkably resilient and capable of so much more than we often give ourselves credit for. We are wonderfully made. In our work together, we would collaborate to discover your unique strengths while exploring the wonder of your particular story. The goal would be to allow the adverse experiences and the accompanying negative core beliefs to fall away and to emerge with a healthier understanding of yourself. This level of change ushers in remarkable levels of courage, connection and wholeness. I received a masters degree in counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary (2006) and have been practicing as a counselor for more than 12 years. I lived and worked in South East Asia for nearly 8 years and so I have an understanding of the particular stress of cross cultural living. I have a heart for missionaries and the unique questions of their soul. My office, whether in-person or online, is a safe place for all of your emotions, questions and doubts. I am available for individual therapy as well as EMDR Consultation for those pursuing EMDR Certification.
