Introduction

Hello, I am Dr. Armando Tovar, Ph.D., LPC-S, an assistant professor at Divine Mercy University and a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Houston, Texas. With a strong commitment to healing and empowerment, I work with individuals facing psychological and emotional challenges using a diverse range of psychological modalities, including cognitive, emotional, behavioral, social, and spiritual approaches. In my practice, I prioritize the art of self-management and self-acceptance, promoting empowerment through these principles. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Franciscan University and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. My research focuses on process addictions, such as internet gaming and social media addiction. As a Marine Corps veteran, I strive to embody and impart the values of honor, courage, and commitment in all my endeavors. I am particularly passionate about using Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to help individuals process trauma quickly and effectively. In addition to my clinical work, I offer supervision for licensed professional counselor associates, guiding the next generation of counselors in their professional development.
