My calming and supportive presence allows a safe environment for clients to freely express their thoughts and feelings. Once a therapeutic relationship is established, I believe in teaching clients how to help themselves by listening to their narratives and guiding them in the direction of their individual goals. I have a specialty in working with trauma (including domestic violence, sexual abuse/assault, & childhood trauma), anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief, life transitions, and working with elite collegiate and professional athletes (including sport performance, injury, & transitioning in and out of sport). My approach is very relational, client centered and strengths based. I believe in empowering my clients to make their own choices and decide how they want their lives to look. I am also EMDR Certified and have utilized EMDR for childhood trauma, chronic forms of trauma, single incidents (e.g. sexual assaults, physical assaults, car jackings, car accidents, medical trauma, abortion trauma, etc.), sports performance, injury, and concussions. I know that therapy can be challenging and emotionally draining but I am here to work alongside you as an equal partner/team member. This is and will always be a judgement free zone. Keep in mind that therapy is not a "quick fix." I can offer skills that you can implement immediately but lasting change involves a deeper exploration of issues and commitment to self.
