Introduction

Hi there! I'm Ashley (or AJ). I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Monterey, California. I specialize in working with individuals from a depth psychological lens, meaning that my work is rooted in a deep respect for and inclusion of the mysteries and paradoxes of life. I believe that we each have a unique path to finding and cultivating the most authentic and nourishing possibilities for ourselves. My work with clients focuses on identity, meaning making, recovery, and connection. I specialize both in work with eating disorders, body autonomy, and the intersection of psychology and spirituality. My primary approach with my clients is psychodynamic, integrative, and largely rooted in Jungian theory. I work with a variety of interventions to support the development of new insights and skills (including the use of guided imagery and dream work in sessions, as appropriate) but also seek to offer grounded and practical applications for everyday life. If you feel that you might benefit from this approach to therapy, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I am happy to answer any questions about my services and/or set up a free consultation to see if we might be a good match. I offer sessions virtually and, for locals, in nature-based settings as a way to customize care to my clients' goals and needs.
