I completed my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan and hold a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Japanese. My diverse work, education, and training experiences have provided the opportunity to work with female and male adults and adolescents in individual therapeutic settings. I believe that counseling provides a safe place for healing to occur. Everyone can benefit from a private spot to sort out conflicting feelings, difficult life circumstances and relationship problems. My therapeutic approach derives from a relational perspective and I utilize cognitive behavioral, strengths-based, person-centered, and solutions-focused approaches in our session. Another aspect of my counseling approach involves assisting you in exploring personal meaning in your life and incorporating humor, when appropriate. Some of the areas in which I have special knowledge include: diversity and multiculturalism, relationship concerns/stressors/boundaries, depression, anxiety, work stress, self-care, self-worth, and career counseling. I would be honored to work alongside you!
