I support children, adolescents, and young adults who have behavioral concerns, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, peer conflicts, challenges in school, social skill deficits, difficulties navigating life transitions, and other challenges. I believe that providing parents and children with strategies that they can implement at home and school is essential to success in therapy. I work closely with parents and teachers to create plans for increasing positive behavior, building confidence and relationships, and improving a child’s functioning at home and school. I incorporate talk and play therapy, along with cognitive behavioral therapy strategies, to support children in learning new ways of understanding and coping with difficult emotions and behaviors. I also offer practical ideas for parents to help their children develop, learn, and thrive both at home and in school. I believe that the foundation of the therapeutic process begins with a trusting, supportive, and accepting relationship with a therapist. When we feel understood and accepted, we begin to grow, heal, express and work through difficult emotions and experiences.
